Modern & Inclusive Language
Instructor: Tessa Veto
Description: Language shapes how we think about others and ourselves. As our society becomes less restrictive on gender and sexuality new terms are being invented, reinvented, or surfacing for the first time for general society. This class will focus on those pieces of language, their history, and their importance today. This class will be a safe space to respectfully ask questions about gender and sexuality that may be awkward or need unpacking. We will cover a whole rainbow of ideas and terms such as pronouns, cis* and trans*, *normativity, *romantic and *sexual, types of attraction, and types of relationships.
