Discussion Items

  • Covid update/Reopening guidelines/Progression of opening

Numbers (covid cases, test positives) are up a little because of July 4th. Scott’s assessment is that we are still OK to continue as we currently are.

*Motion made (20210715-2):  Move that we remain at Level 3 on the Covid Re-opening guideline.

  • Proposed Covid reopening procedures for in-person worship services

RE Coordinator Gem Emerson Paige (they/them) shared plans for nursery/child/youth facilitation and activities. There are separate plans for under age 12 and over age 12. Coming of Age will resume.

Explicit plans for moving down a level for grounds/facility utilization for meetings, etc. are not in the guidelines. There is a statement that worsening statistics may trigger dropping back a level. The Board has reassessed the guidelines each month and feels that the policy is sufficient for both advancing and retreating as appropriate based on community statistics. Details for implementation will continue to be left to staff.

Action Items

  • Bylaws congregational review

A month-by-month roll out schedule was presented. Information/QA sessions will be held starting in mid-August followed by with more detailed discussions for select policies and procedures. This should prepare the fellowship for a vote to adopt the new Bylaws at the congregational meeting in May, 2021.

Policies yet to be written will be taken on by Board members and/or delegated to committees and groups as appropriate.

  • Fill the position of Chalice Lighter program liaison/ambassador

Don Stepich, Sue Philley, and Wanda Jennings will be asked if they are interested. It would be helpful to get more than one ambassador.

Update  7/26/21 – Sue Philley agreed to be the ambassador for the Chalice Lighter program.

  • Covenant review

Board members will review the Board covenant and discuss suggestions for change (if any) at the August Board meeting.
