Conscious Parenting
Facilitator: Sangam Stanczak
Dates and Time: Sunday, Sep 29, 11:30 am (after service), in person, Balasz Classroom
Description: A monthly group on how to heal ourselves so we show up with clean energy for our children.
Being ourselves is hard, and being a parent is even harder. This is a safe space for all types of parents. There is no judgment or shame here. The goal is to bring comfort and new behavioral practices to add to your parenting toolbox. All of the techniques we will discuss are evidenced-based and peer-reviewed practices. Highlights include calming mechanisms, inner child work, re-writing all the ‘shoulds,’ discovering your authentic self, and having more participation in your reaction as well as having more awareness of what you can and cannot control, including creating realistic expectations. You will be provided with worksheets and handouts so you can make self-assessments that prompt questions and can be answered in private or group discussion. The goal is to discover the unique parenting style that works for you.

Long Strange Trip is a six-part video series by Ron Cordes that explores the history of Unitarian and Universalist thought and practice from the early, liberal strands in faith at the beginning of the Christian era to what we know today as Unitarian Universalism. This program comes from the UUA.
Jay and Nancy will show the videos and lead discussions afterward.
