The experience of music is a fundamental element of worship at our Fellowship, created through the steady efforts of volunteers, our professional music director, and occasional guest musicians.
If you haven't filled out a music survey lately, and are interested, here's an online form to let us know what you're interested in, or make other comments.
SINGING

Our adult choir holds weekly rehearsals (Wednesday evening) during the
program year, and usually performs the first Sunday of the month, under
the direction of our Music Director, Carrie Bastian, and accompanied by
Sue Langley. Experience is welcome, but not necessary. We seek to have
fun, learn and grow as musicians, and to make our rehearsal time a
spiritual practice. Childcare is available.
Soloists or small groups are invited to volunteer for Sunday mornings or special occasions. See "Instrumental Musicians" below.
being hUUman
Our "house band" formed in 2008 and has been delighting the congregation on most 3rd Sundays of the month. They rehearse Tuesday evenings.
INSTRUMENTAL MUSICIANS
Our Music Director, Carrie Bastian (208 283-4152, ) coordinates volunteers and guests for Sunday mornings, playing the piano or other instruments for incidental music (Prelude, Meditation, Offertory), and to accompany congregational singing.
The choir has occasional performances that include accompaniment with other instruments (flute, strings, percussion, etc.)
(We have a small budget for honoraria for non-member guest musicians, and we ask for the gift of members' and friends' musical contributions.)
MUSIC COMMITTEE
The Music Committee provides oversight for music at BUUF, coordinates with the Sunday Services committee and other events, manages hiring and review of our paid staff (currently the Music Director, and our choir accompanist), and the budget for music. We typically meet once a month, with additional communication by email.
The current committee chair is Tom von Alten; contact him at 208 378-1217, or .
